  • Congratulations on your effort to raise awareness regarding pollution. I am from Arusha but currently living in Finland, I shall move back to Tanzania at the beginning of next year to settle with my girlfriend. I have for so many years been concerned about the rivers in Arusha, especially about how water is being used from when it starts it journey down the mountains until it reaches the maasai plains several kilometers away. I hope to one day find a person/group of people, ready to take this journey with me. I am not sure it will be such a soft ride considering most rose farms are the biggest culprits in destroying the rivers, but there is no crime in conducting a research on this. I have personally seen the beautiful waterfalls off mount meru with massive amounts of water heading down the mountain, only to remain as a little stream a few kilometers later that local people have to fight for to water their small vegetable gardens, in some cases even causing loss of lives as the biggest consumers remain untouched producing flowers of which are of no use to the local people.

I want to know if it is possible to measure the amount of water for example before it reaches a rose farm, and then after the river passes the rose farm. These farms are contributing to draught on a big scale and people have to know just to what extent the damage is done.. I for one, would really really like to know. Would you?
